‘Naija Song’ (Na We Get Am) – Official Music Video

‘Naija Song’ (Na We Get Am)

Zomadee - Naija Song (Na We Get Am) - CD Cover

Here is a new Zomadee song. It’s titled ‘Naija Song’ (Na We Get Am). It is a song to help bring peace to Nigeria and all the other troubled places. It’s all about love and tolerance.

I originally titled song ‘Na We Get Am’  which is Nigerian street language for ‘We own it.’ My producer Chris Okoro titled it ‘Naija Song’ and that sounded more catchy to me. First few people I played song for whispered ‘Na We Get Am!’ So I let both titles stay.

Song starts with the first two lines of the National Anthem of Nigeria. ‘Big Thanks’ to the gentlemen/ladies who composed that beautiful song. I really struggled to determine where the song body should fuse with the Anthem. The fusion seemed to work out eventually–You be the judge.

Lyrics-:

Arise, O Compatriots,
Nigeria’s call obey

Nak am for the Bom-bom-bom and the Bam-bam-bam
Play am for the Koko-koko-koko and the Kaka-kaka-kaka

Remember-er-er we dreamt together once?
Remember-er-er we played together once?
Remember-er-er we scored together once?

The belief in your heart is the belief in my heart
That together as one, we can do better things
Oh yes, Oh yes

Nigeria na we get am–Na we get am
Nigeria na we get am–Say na who get am?
Nigeria na we get am–Na we own am
Nigeria na we get am, na we own am

Whatever-er-er you do, remember us
Wherever-er-er you go, don’t forget us
Whatever-er-er you do, remember me

The story of your life is the story of my life
The red blood in your vein is the red blood in my vein
Oh yes, Oh yes

Nigeria na we get am–Na we get am
Nigeria na we get am–abi no be we get am?
Nigeria na we get am–She na we own am?
Nigeria na we get am, na we own am

Na we get am–Na we get am
Na we get am–Na we get am
Na we get am–Na we get am
Na we own am– Na we own am
Na we get am–Na we get am

Blow am for the Para-para-para and the Tara-tara-tara
Shake am for the Shaka-shaka-shaka and the Chaka-chaka-chaka

Lagos na we, Calabar na we
Sokota na we, Maidugiri na we
Kaduna na we, Lokoja na we
Warri na we get am, na we own am

Yes, yes, yes
Yes, yes, yes
Yes, yes

No need for the Shootu-shootu-shootu and the Bombi-bombi-bombi
No need for the Killi-killi-killi and the Kidnap-kidnap-kidnap

Yola na we, Ibadan na we
Owerri na we, Enugu na we
Ilorin na we, Asaba na we
Makurdi na we dey there for riverside

Yes, yes, yes
Yes, yes, yes

Nigeria na we get am–Na we get am
Nigeria na we get am–Make we love am
Nigeria na we get am–Make we do am well
Nigeria na we get am, na we own am

Jonathan Chan, Chris Longwood, Austin Smith at Sugarhill Recording, Stephen Alum, Chinwe Alum, Keith Mays, Emeka Odinma and VizTvMedia  in Houston, Tx assisted immensely in song and video production.
I did not meet the ladies who did the background vocals and others who worked with Chris in Lagos, but I thank them so much. I know two of them to be Joan Uzoma and Simeon Ugbeide.
